  1. Our heaters provides excellent dielectric strength, while permitting rapid and efficient heat migration through the sheath of the heater and into the object requiring heat. The use of mica allows the mass of the heater to be kept to a minimum, thus reducing weight, accelerating heat transfer, and keeping costs to a minimum. 

    Our mica bands are encased in various metals according to application needs. High-quality resistor ribbon or wire is precisely wound over mica cores and either terminated to stainless steel terminal posts designed to allow slippage rather than be twisted off, or connected to nickel alloy wires. 

    Popular applications of mica insulated band heaters include: injection molding, extruders, autoclaves, blow molding, heating pipes, and laboratory tests.

  3. Mica Bands are commonly used in Plastics Injection Molding and Extrusion. Mica Band Heaters are our most widely used band heater because of their versatile design and rugged construction characteristics. Mica Bands have sheath temperature capabilities up to 800°F (425°C).

  5. One piece nozzle band heater, 3/4 inch diameter X 1 inch wide, 75 watts, 120 volts with 10 inch flexible leads.
  6. Standard Degree Locations for Band Heaters


    1. Always go clockwise in degrees starting at 0°.
    2. When termination is on the smaller degree, side lock up will be towards the termination.
    3. When termination is on the larger degree side, lock up will be away from the termination. Standard thickness of a mica band is .1875.
    4. When ordering a specific degree location, always assume the gap is 0° or 12:00.
